Every buyer in our data is placed in one sector, using its name (and, where the name says nothing, the notice title or CPV codes). Purchasing consortia are grouped with the bodies they mainly serve, e.g. ESPO, YPO, NEPO and Scotland Excel under local councils and TUCO under universities.

Sector assignment is automatic and may occasionally be wrong; the official notice always names the buyer.
